THE FAs decision to force Frome Town to wthdraw from the FA Trophy because they, quite correctly, chose not to travel all the way to Maidstone, Kent for an evening kick-off shows just how out of touch with grassroots football they truly are. I used to be a secretary of a Step 5 club and my experiences with dealing with them with correspondence etc, was a travesty. They were full-time staff yet if you rang them up you were generally greeted by an answerphone message vowing to ring you back. That rarely happened.
