RYAN BIRD’S dramatic stoppage- time goal saw Slough edge Braintree in a thriller. It took until the 39th minute for Slough to find an opening after a lacklustre start. Ben Harris’ pinpoint delivery found Warren Harris, who flicked his effort past Braintree’s debutant goalkeeper Jack Giddens.
But Braintree levelled moments later after Arjanit Krasniqi pounced on a clearance from keeper Jack Turner which saw the ball ricochet into an open net.
