CITY of Liverpool boss Michael Ellison says didn’t take long to get Theo Roberts new deal sorted – about 30 seconds!

The 22-year-old keeper, whose performances at Buxton won him a place in the 2018-19 NPL Premier Division team of the season, joined the Purps from National League North Curzon Ashton last October.

Ellison said: “Theo has been excellent for us since he walked through the door.

“He put in some excellent performances in the decent FA Trophy run we had before the season came to an end, and again it was an easy conversation about him staying… 30 seconds.

“He’s a top lad on and of the pitch and I think we will see the best of him this season after a full pre-season with us.”

Midfielder Zac Aley is also returning for the new season and Ellison said: ”Zac is a player I know really well from my time at Runcorn Linnets.

“He’s had terrible luck with injuries of late, but hopefully those are behind him now.

“He brings with him pace and power, he can play in a number of positions and he’s a great lad in the dressing room. The Purps have only seen a glimpse of what he can do.”
