Culverhouse gave his blessing for the Linnets’ star midfielder to join the newly-promoted Seasiders for an undisclosed fee amidst much interest from the EFL.

Carey joined the Linnets in the summer of 2019 from Wroxham and impressed last season, his first season at National League level.

He made 75 appearances for the club, scoring 11 goals.

Culverhouse said: “Sonny is going to a good club with a manager who helps improve players. I feel Sonny still has a couple of gears he can go up and wish him all the best with a move he deserves.”

King’s Lynn have moved quickly to replace Carey by bringing in striker Junior Morias from Scottish Premiership side St Mirren.

Morias, 25, has turned out for a number of EFL and National League clubs, most recently Boreham Wood last season on loan.

He said: “I’m looking at this move as a rebirth. I’ve got experience of playing at this level with Boreham Wood and feel this can help me at King’s Lynn.”
