York City

YORK CITY have signed goalkeeper Maison Campbell from Mansfield Town.

The 18-year-old has joined City after a successful two-week trial period, impressing the management team and goalkeeping coach Andy Collett.

Campbell said: “It’s my first professional contract and it’s a club with a lot of promise so I’m buzzing with it.

“Coming in I want to get my place in the squad and hopefully play a few games in the first team and at the end of it all hopefully get promotion.”

Assistant boss Micky Cummins said: “He has shown all the attributes we look for in a keeper and a kid. He’s hungry, shown good desire and is great around the place.”
