AARON O’CONNOR says he just had to jump on board at local club Basford United to be a part of their big plans.
The 37-year-old, most recently at Tamworth, has joined Steve Chettle’s Pitching In NPL Premier side.
A prolific goalscorer, O’Connor names Gresley Rovers, Rushden & Diamonds, Luton and Forest Green Rovers among his former clubs, and it was at Newport County where he scored the goal that sealed promotion to the Football League in the 2013 Conference promotion final.
O’Connor said: “I’m a Basford boy. I’ve spoken to Steve (Chettle) and Chris (Munroe, chairman) and wanted to jump on board and get the club where it wants to go.”
