■ DEAN Thexton grabbed both goals as Shildon saw off Tadcaster.
Shildon took the lead in the 32nd minute when Thexton headed in after a scramble.
The hosts doubled their advantage on the stroke of half-time with Thexton again on target.
In the second half Tad had the majority of the ball but struggled to break down a tough Shildon defence.
The Brewers did pull one back when Dan Hartley found the back of the net but Steve Waide’s men couldn’t get that much needed equaliser.
