BILLERICAY’S inability to defend corners cost them dear in this important game at the foot of the table against a Hemel side under new manager Mark Jones.
The visitors got off to a perfect start with a goal in five minutes. Chris Paul made a telling run to play the ball out wide to Sam Mantom whose deflected cross was bundled home from close range by Freddie Hinds.
Another early chance came as Samir Carruthers played the ball in behind the full back for the quick Aaron Simpson but his shot was well saved by Bailey Vose.
