STAMFORD’S much- -changed side lost by a single goal at the Zeeco Stadium and crashed out of the FA Trophy.
Daventry opened the scoring early when Jack Bowen crossed for Taylor Orosz to scuff the ball past Wallis.
The visitors then parked the bus and courageously hung onto their slender lead.
Tom Siddons’ cross was hit goalwards by Jake Duffy, but it was well held by James Martin.
Joe Butterworth then saw his effort go narrowly wide, while James Blunden’s header found a similar result.
