MATLOCK TOWN maintained their position at the top of the table with a hard earned win.
The Gladiators made the better start with Alex Wiles having a shot comfortably saved by Aidan Dowling after just two minutes.
But the best chance of the opening half-hour fell to Lancaster when Andy Teague’s header was cleared off the line.
