Gillam denies the Mariners victory

ATHERTON COLLIERIES recovered from their recent run of narrow defeats with a hard fought draw against high-flying South Shields.
Following a cagey first-half with few chances for either team, the Stripes took the initiative following a second-half red card for violent conduct received by Shields’ Darius Osei.
Osei received his marching orders after 52 minutes for an off-the-ball incident.
Opportunities for Colls’ Marcus Cusani, Joel Amado and Aaron Smith followed, before the Mariners’ Jack Bodenham scored again...
