■ HEYBRIDGE overcame Great Wakering with the odd goal goal in five at Scraley Road.
The Swifts started the stronger of the sides and got their reward on the 20-minute mark when Lionel Ainsworth found himself in the middle of the box and tucked it neatly in the corner.
Ten minutes later, Lewis Gard picked the ball up and breezed past three defenders before wrapping his foot around ball and into the back of the net.
The second half saw Heybridge add another one through Jack Adlington-Pile after beating a defender to a low cross.
