HASHTAG United’s reserve game had to be abandoned – after one of the players was hit by a stray firework, writes ROBIN JONES.
The Essex Senior League Reserve Division One leaders were 2-0 up against visiting Concord Rangers Reserves at the Len Salmon Stadium in Pitsea on Friday.
Video footage posted on Hashtag’s Twitter page shows their player Matas Skrna hit by a firework which flew across the pitch before exploding around him.
A shower of sparks erupted as Skrna fell to the ground holding his leg in agony as fellow players summoned medical assistance.
