■ BOSTON were a whisker from being taken to penalties as Jimmy Armson’s added-time effort crashed onto the bar.
But the Pilgrims survived Brackley’s second-half onslaught, despite ending the game a man down.
Boston leapt on two pieces of defensive hesitancy to take a half-time lead through clinical finishes by Danny Elliott and Shane Byrne, on 28 and 45 minutes respectively.
Three minutes after halftime, Lee Ndlovu pulled one back from close range.
