■NEEDHAM MARKET made club history as they advanced to the third round proper for the first time after a dominant win in torrid conditions.
It took until the 63rd minute for the first goal, Luke Ingram drove through past everybody before slotting home into an empty net from a tight angle.
Like buses, Jake Dye’s great run and low finish across goal quickly doubled the Marketmen’s lead, before Welwyn briefly set up a grandstand finish, although Carl Mensah’s free header from a corner in the penultimate minute of normal time.
