GOALKEEPER James Anderson ended an eventful day the hero as Morpeth Town won on penalties at Warrington Town.
Anderson had been expecting to play for his dual-registered side Whickham but was drafted in with their game off and Morpeth’s regular keeper stranded at home.
The Highwaymen led midway through the first half when Liam Henderson dispossessed Mitch Duggan and rounded the keeper. Though his shot was blocked, Ben Sayer tapped into the empty net.
