■ GREAT Wakering began strongly and had the best of the first-half despite occasional breaks by Witham, with Nathan Fuma and Martin Tuohy testing Rhys Madden on the halfhour.
It was goalless at the break and it was the home side who started the second period with renewed vigour.
Adam Vyse went close to scoring for Witham but the visitors broke away and took the lead through Billy Johnson in the 65th minute.
