ESSEX CLASH ENDS IN A STALEMATE

AFTER a bright start the game descended into a tight, tense battle as may have been expected between two local rivals battling at the wrong end of the table.
The hosts started quickly with Laurie Wilson’s header blocked on the line by David Winfield in the third minute. The ball was recycled and Femi Akinwande struck his shot just wide.
The visitors came back immediately and a sixth minute corner was headed just wide by Chez Isaac.
The game settled with defences on top, until the 35th minute when Tom Blackwell’s cross field ball ...
