SERGE Makofo scored the only goal of the game as Merstham overcame Bowers & Pitsea at The Len Salmon Stadium.
The visitors were a man up when they scored and finished the game with ten men to Bowers’ nine after two late dismissls.
Merstham started the stronger of the two sides and James Richmond saw his header cleared off the line before Mitchell Beeney saved from the Merstham skipper.
