ARCHER ON TARGET AS PORT RUN CONTINUES

SOUTHPORT extended the unbeaten run to 14 league games in a scrappy game played in very blustery conditions which dictated the style of game.
But Guiseley can count themselves a bit unlucky to go away without a share of the spoils.
Southport started brightly and threatened the Guiseley goal with an early scramble in the penalty area following a superb corner from Dylan Vassallo.
Southport took the lead on 17 minutes when a Jack Doyle cross found Jordan Archer in acres of space and he headed home from 12 yards.
