DARREN SARLL says he opted to leave Yeovil Town and join lower-ranked Woking in order to “close the gap” that exists between the National League big guns and the rest.
Sarll, 39, surprisingly stepped away from his three-year reign at Yeovil last weekend having led the Glovers to 12th in the table on the back on three successive wins.
And he was soon being introduced into the hotseat of the league’s newest full-time outfit – positioned three places lower – to replace the void left by Alan Dowson’s shock sacking last month.
