■ TWO goals by Winchester’s Ollie Balmer enabled Winchester to beat Melksham as the battle for a top five placing intensifies.
Both of Winchester’s two first-half goals were in part due to defensive errors though.
Firstly in the 34th minute the Melksham goalkeeper dropped the ball and in his efforts to retrieve it brought down Oli Bailey with Warren Bentley converting the resultant penalty.
