FAREWELL TO AN EPSOM VASE STAR

FOOTBALL is mourning former Cobham, Epsom & Ewell, Millwall, Charlton and Gillingham midfielder Phil Walker, who played in the first ever FA Vase final in 1975, and died on Friday aged 67.
Walker was born in 1954 and played for Cobham before moving to 1974 Surrey Senior League runners-up Epsom & Ewell. His arrival was the last piece in the puzzle as Epsom stormed to the league title.
Better than that, Epsom enjoyed a fantastic FA Vase run. This was the first season after the end of the FA Amateur Cup and the FA had brought in the FA Vase for clubs outside...
