■NEW Welwyn manager Max Mitchell’s home debut against his old club ended in a disastrous result for the Citizens, as Walthamstow plundered an away victory in their first Southern League fixture for 16 seasons.
In a closely fought first half, the Citizens could consider themselves unfortunate to be trailing at the break to a Damary Anyadike goal after 22 minutes, from a left-wing cross.
But the game changed on a Stow second in the first attack of the second half, when fullback Lucas Schreiber netted.
