WORKINGTON climbed to third place with this narrow victory.
A few more goals would have lifted them to second, and they had opportunities to do that against a dogged Skelmersdale side.
Indeed, the battling visitors were on level terms after 59 minutes following a spectacular effort from Jordan Southworth and the Cumbrians had to start again.
