HEMEL HEMPSTEAD edged a tight and sometimes dour affair to give new boss Brad Quinton his first win, a result that leaves the Beavers with only goal difference keeping them out of the drop zone.
It was always a game that was going to be decided by the first goal, with few chances at either end.
Both sides had their keepers to thank in the first half, Alan Julian superbly saving a Jernade Meade free-kick and Craig King brilliantly turning a Connor Kurran-Browne effort around the post.
