RYAN Jones fired Hungerford Town into the last 16 of the FA Trophy as the Crusaders fended off the strong challenge of Southern League Central division leaders Tamworth.
Christie Ward gave Hungerford an early lead inside ten minutes when he followed up Matt Berry-Hargreaves’ strike that hit a post.
The game was an even affair that Tamworth grew into. Alex Collard flicked a Ben Milnes free kick just wide before Ward then kept out a header from him and shortly afterwards Alex Bradley.
