■ LUKE Read’s second-half goal rescued a point for Merstham against Thatcham Town in a game bereft of much quality.
Thatcham took the lead after seven minutes when the ball was pulled back for Muhamadou Ceesay who rolled it into the far corner.
Merstham had a glorious chance to get back on terms five minutes before the break when Bryan Zepo was brought down in the box. But Jordan Wilson’s poor penalty was easily saved by Toby Fisher. Merstham equalised after 57 minutes when Luke Read got a free header from a corner and powered it ...
