IN AN early chance for Whitehawk, Charlie Lambert’s effort was forced away for a corner.
Alfie Rodgers scored the opening goal in the 23rd minute, slack defending allowing him to drive a right foot shot home from 20 yards. Hawk kept VCD pegged into their own half, controlling the game, with home keeper Gilmore forced into a diving save, then again at the far post following the resulting corner.
