■ SUTTON welcomed topof- the-league Stamford and earned a gritty point.
From the kick-off Stamford attacked and a shot from Rob Morgan cannoned off the bar.
The first real Sutton attack led to a great shot from Ryan Edwards just missing the top corner. Following a spell of Sutton pressure, Stamford took the lead when Jon Margetts had a simple tap-in.
