HANLEY Town climbed out of the bottom four thanks to this vital victory.
The Staffordshire side opened the scoring midway through the first half when Jake Twyford’s deep cross was knocked down at the back post by Kieran Brown to captain Louis Dodds to strike a lovely half-volley and score his first goal since November.
Bootle’s best chance came towards the end of the first half when Sam Taylor beat the offside trap before squaring to Jack McGowan. The winger somehow he put his effort onto the crossbar from around three yards out.
