Kidsgrove dominated the first half with plenty of chances, the best from a corner as Kyle Diskin whipped it in and a header from Josh Thorpe went narrowly wide.
Despite the dominance it was Ramsbottom who took the lead after Kidsgrove keeper Ryan Brown brought down Wealth Da Silva who slotted home the penalty.
