TAUNTON TOWN kept alive their survival chances by beating play-off hopefuls Braintree Town.
The Peacocks took the lead in the opening ten minutes when Zac Smith found himself in the area just at the right time when the Braintree defence failed to clear Ollie Chamberlain’s high cross from the right and the left back nodded home from close range.
Then, completely against the run of play, Taunton doubled their advantage on the half-hour mark.
