Card row sparked a Hol lot of bother

I THOUGHT you might be interested in an incident that occurred recently in an Eastern Counties League Division One match between Harwich & Parkeston and Holbeach United.
Holbeach United were winning the match 4-2 when, in the 88th minute, a foul was committed and a free-kick was awarded to Harwich.
Unbeknown to the Holbeach player involved, running with his back to the incident, the referee issued him a yellow card. It later turned out – apparently through the referee’s assessor – that this was his second booking of the game but the referee...
