GOAL hero Jamie Cooke thanked former Colne boss Nathan Rooney for throwing him into men’s football – and FC Halifax Town chief Chris Millington for putting him on the Wembley stage.
The 21-year-old has no doubt scored purer goals but it was his sharpness in the box that, ultimately, won the FA Trophy.
Cooke dashed across the hallowed turf to block Gateshead keeper James Montgomery’s clearance, with the ball falling into the net to spark wild celebrations.
