RULING OVER A MINERS OFFENCE

HEMSWORTH Miners Welfare have lost their appeal against their removal from the Northern Counties East League and have been placed in a league two steps below, writes ROBIN JONES.
Despite finishing eighth in the Premier Division, the club have been relegated to the Step 7 Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior League because the pitch at their Football MDC Sports Stadium has been deemed too short. The pitch is currently 96.8 metres by 63 metres, but the FA Rules are for Step 5 a minimum of 100 metres by 64 metres.
