LEAMINGTON edged this clash of two newcomers to the division, but were taken to the wire by a Long Eaton side who had seen their management team depart during the week, along with several members of their promotion-winning squad.
Led by outstanding skipper Ross Durrant, the visitors grew into the game and would have been disappointed not to take a point. Resilient defending, great goalkeeping and a lack of sharpness in the final third saw the contest on a knife edge until the final whistle.
