NEWLY-PROMOTED Enfield kicked off the campaign in style with victory over last season’s play-off semi-finalists Grays Athletic.
In a cagey start to proceedings, the home side went closest to opening the scoring. Jamie Dicks’ cross was headed over at the back post by Jack Grosvenor. However, in the latter stages of the first half,
it was Enfield who made the all-important breakthrough. Aaron Greene delivered the ball into the middle towards forward Luke Hirst, who prodded home.
