FIVE-STAR SILKMEN ARE TOO HOT FOR THE ROBINS

MACCLESFIELD were far too strong for Ashton United at a baking Leasing.com Stadium.
The Robins never recovered after going behind in the fourth minute, a defensive lapse which allowed Paul Dawson to stride into the box before knocking the ball past Luke Simpson.
In the 12th minute, Ashton struck the goalframe twice in a few seconds.
First Luke Burke’s cross came off the crossbar bar and, on the rebound, Brad Abbott scuffed his attempt off a post and into the arms of a grateful Conor O’Keefe.
