ALEX DOWNES turned into ‘Captain Fantastic’ for newly-promoted Colwyn Bay as they picked up their first victory of the season in the JD Cymru Premier thanks to his 76th-minute winner that lifted the Seagulls off the bottom of the table.
Last season’s JD North champions had scored only two goals in their previous five outings in the top flight and conceded nine. But manager Steve Evans not only had a win to celebrate – but also a clean sheet.
