WIDNES boss Michael Ellison was sent off as the Whites suffered a second successive home defeat.
Visitors Newcastle ran out worthy winners in a match they controlled throughout.
Castle took the lead after 35 minutes when Tommy van Der Laan reacted quickest to nod home as Dan Cockerline had been denied by the crossbar.
They doubled their advantage just before the break when that man Cockerline finished off a sweeping counter-attacking move from close range. Widnes looked to respond in the second half and did have the ball in the net...
