Match Preview: Guiseley v Morpeth Town (Saturday, 3pm)

Morpeth Town make the journey to Nethermoor Park to play Guiseley on Saturday looking to pick up points to end their three-game losing streak.

Morpeth’s struggles have left them with seven points from their last six Northern Premier League matches, while their opponents have earned 10 from a possible 18.

With 57 goals in 30 games so far this season, Morpeth are scoring more than average in the league with 1.9 goals per game. But they are conceding more than average too, letting in 59 goals at a rate of 2.0 per game.

Guiseley are also above average scorers, with 1.8 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.7. They have conceded 1.6 goals per game.

The Lions are seventh in the table after 28 games, of which they have won 13 and drawn seven, earning 46 points.

Town are five places behind the hosts in 12th, with 11 wins and eight draws putting them on 41 points.

In the last three years, Guiseley and Morpeth have played each other on three occasions. Guiseley won two of them and they drew once.

Their last meeting was on September 26, when they played out a 1-1 draw.

Guiseley’s last match was on February 10, a 1-1 draw against Ashton United.

Morpeth lost 3-1 against Bamber Bridge last time out, also on February 10.
