Adam Hinshelwood joined York City in the February of last year

Hinshelwood not fazed by York mission

Adam Hinshelwood says he’s big enough to withstand the heat at York City after being tasked with saving their season.

The highly-rated boss left Worthing’s National League South promotion pursuit to take over at the Minstermen.

It came following the axing of former Notts County and Solihull Moors boss Neal Ardley, who took over in September, following a tricky run.

But Hinshelwood’s tenure got off to a rocky start as they fell to a 3-2 home defeat against Wealdstone and slipped into the National League relegation zone.

And he says defeat taught him a lot ahead of Tuesday’s crunch clash with AFC Fylde.

“I’m big enough and old enough to take the criticism that is rightly going to come my way,” said Hinshelwood. “All I do is focus on the players and making sure that they are ready come Tuesday now.

“We will learn a lot from today’s game, that is for sure.”
