A LATE penalty from Sam Evans clinched Hanwell Town’s away win over Walton & Hersham.
Neither side enjoyed a particularly bright start, with both cancelling each other out during the opening 15 minutes.
The hosts’ first chance fell to Caelan Avenell but his header was well saved by Town stopper Sam Beasant.
Despite not being at their best, it was Hanwell who opened the scoring three minutes before half-time. The goal was a bitter pill for the hosts to swallow with the ball deflecting in off Avenell.
