BOOTLE looked like they were off to a blistering start after finding the net inside the first minute, only for the linesman to rule it offside.
Bootle kept up the press and reaped the rewards in the 25th minute when Michael Burkey’s strike found the bottom corner.
Toward the end of the first half, the home side almost doubled the lead as Jay Cooper’s volley from a well swung corner was put over the bar.
