AVELEY secured a comeback victory over their play-off rivals in a crucial match with five games to go.
The visitors controlled the early stages and Shaun Jeffers carved open a few chances for St Albans, but couldn’t make the breakthrough, with Jake Burger being denied by Aveley’s keeper Jonathan North.
Aveley grew into the game and Kai Brown was denied by a great lastditch block from James. A long throw from Jason Ring was flicked on by Harry Gibbs to Brown who had his shot blocked.
