WIDNES stayed in contention for a play-off place with a thrilling win over Prescot on Friday night.
The hosts took the lead after 28 minutes when a pass played James Steele in behind and finished expertly. It was 2-0 when Sean Miller converted a penalty ten minutes later, but Cables skipper James Foley replied with a spot-kick of his own.
