Ben Tozer joins Forest Green

Ben Tozer

Ben Tozer has signed for Forest Green Rovers from Wrexham.

The defender was a free agent after winning back-to-back promotions with the Dragons.

After starting his career at Swindon Town, Tozer has gone on to represent Newcastle United, Northampton Town, Yeovil Town, Newport County and Cheltenham Town before dropping back to the National League in 2021 with Wrexham.

The 34-year-old has made exactly 600 career appearances between the Championship and National League.

On joining Forest Green, Tozer told the official club website:

“I want a successful season on the pitch, as a player and for the club.

“Everyone knows that promotion out of the National League is difficult. We’ve got to work hard and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in.”

Tozer is the third player to sign for Rovers this summer with Liam Sercombe and Sean Long arriving last month.
