Steven Daley steps down as Prescot Cables manager

Prescot Cables have announced that manager Steven Daley and his assistant Peter Cumiskey have left the club.

Prescot won promotion from the Pitching In NPL Division One West last season via the play-offs, reaching Step 3 for the first time in 15 years.

The club’s official website released a statement:

“Following an evaluation of the club’s financial obligations for the upcoming season and our projected outgoings, it has become clear that our initial agreed budget is not sustainable.

“The long term sustainability of the club will always be our first priority.

“We thank both Steven and Peter for their enormous contribution to the club since their appointment in February 2023.”

The Merseyside club also pulled out of a planned friendly at Marine, which was due to take place tonight.
