Boreham Wood have brought Luke Garrard back as manager, just under five months after he’d left the club.

Garrard had been at the club for 18 years in various capacities, which included being appointed manager in October 2015.

In eight and a half years in charge he led Wood to the National League play-offs three times and the FA Cup 5th Round in 2022, where they lost at Premier League Everton.

Chairman Danny Hunter confirmed on 2 April this year that Garrard would depart the club at the end of the 2023/24 season, which ended in relegation.

Ross Jenkins was appointed as his successor but was dismissed yesterday after 121 days in charge.

In a statement welcoming Garrard back to Meadow Park, the club’s official website wrote:

“The Club urges the Wood Army faithful to get behind the Club, Luke and the team this weekend as we look to kick start our season following a difficult year, a poor start and an indifferent spell of results and performances of late.”

Garrard’s first game in charge will be at Eastbourne Borough in the FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round tomorrow afternoon.
